| Learn To Skate Program |
|
The ""Learn To Skate"" Program is a structured program designed to increase interest and participation in ice skating. The program provides a nurturing environment where skills are broken down into progressive, achievable levels that encourage skater development.

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers about classes
Tots: The Tots testing program offers specialized instruction for three to five year olds with the emphasis on fun.
Beginning Skaters: The Pre Alpha test program introduces skaters to the wonderful world of ice skating. Emphasizing fun and safety, lessons quickly generate confidence as new skaters develop skills and make new friends.
Basic Skills: The basic skills skating program guides new skaters through carefully graduated maneuvers, ensuring rapid progress over short time periods. Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta tests provide direction and build competency in all important foundation moves. After completion of the introductory Learn to Skate levels, skaters may progress to Low Freestyle (FS1 - FS4)
Pre Alpha through Delta & Low Freestyle classes are offered to all ages, tots to adults. Skaters wishing to compete and advance their skills further can move on to our freestyle and figure skating specialty classes.

This class includes 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of free skate. Adult beginner class open to skaters 16 years and older. Class is for beginner and intermediate levels of figure skating. This class is designed to promote overall fitness, while mastering the basics of ice skating.

LVIC Skating Academy Figure Skating Specialty Classes
Skating Academy Classes are designed for skaters whom successfully graduated from our
“Learn To Skate” Program and would like to further advance their skating skills.
This program introduces skaters to different elements in skating and what is required if they choose to continue to skate recreationally or begin career as a competitive skater.

This class will focus on learning a variety of different footwork patterns, steps and turns. This class will help skaters gain better control over edges, body alignment and the ability to perform more difficult footwork during programs.

Class will focus on Off Ice Jump technique, exercises to gain core, upper-body strength and improve flexibility, positions and bodyline of the skater.
