ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Lil’ Knights Cross-Ice program is a year round introductory hockey program for skaters (ages 5+) who have passed “Advanced Beginner” or “Pre-Alpha” levels of our “Learn to Skate” program.

Lil’ Knights is designed to teach the fundamentals of skating and puck control related to the exciting game of ice hockey. Upon successful completion of all levels, skaters will be prepared to participate in the youth “In-House” leagues at Las Vegas Ice Center. Full hockey gear is required. The Las Vegas Ice Center Proshop can fit your child with a full set of hockey gear. We carry Bauer and True hockey gear starter kits as well many other options.

$15 per session | $120 for 8-session series


Our Lil Knights Stickhandling Class is an off-ice stickhandling program held in the North Rink, designed specifically for players ready to take the next step from Lil Knights into House League play. This class focuses on building confidence with the puck, improving coordination, and introducing game-ready skills. 

Players will work through a mix of traditional stickhandling drills along with our Ai based iPad training system, which challenges players with real-time reaction drills to improve hand speed, decision-making, and puck control.
This combination of repetition and reaction training helps players develop the confidence and quickness needed to succeed in game situations.

This program is offered as a special add-on for Lil Knights participants at a discounted rate, giving players an opportunity for extra development at a great value.
Schedule Options:
Mondays: 4:30–5:00 PM or 7:00–7:30 PM
Fridays: 4:00–4:30 PM or 6:30–7:00 PM

Program Levels

Level 1

Prerequisite:
Completion of Learn to Skate Program

  • Level 1 players will learn & master the hockey ready position, how to identify & use inside & outside edges, how to perform Right & Left C-Cuts, how to forward stride, and how to stop. Skater must pass these categories in order to advance to Hockey
  • Participants must pass all above categories in order to advance to Level 2.

Level 2

Prerequisite:
Completion of Lil’ Knights Level 1

  • For players that have passed Lil Knights Level 1. Players will learn & master controlled single foot turns & two-feet heel to toe turns, forward R & L crossovers, backward skating (R & L C-Cuts), forward to backward transitioning, and puck control (keeping the puck in front of the body). Skaters must pass four of these five categories in order to advance to Level 3.
  • Skaters must pass this level in order to advance to the next level.

Level 3

Prerequisite:
Completion of Lil’ Knights Level 2

  • For players that have successfully passed Level 1 and Level 2. This semester will help the player further develop and prepare for game-like situations. They will learn & master how to pass and receive the puck (forehand & backhand), how to shoot the puck (forehand “wrist shot”, & backhand), advanced puck control (move puck from one side of body to the other), and transition forward to backward with the puck. Skater must pass ALL four categories to be eligible for our House League. Players must be able to demonstrate these skills at an age-appropriate level, so it may take older players longer to complete the program.
  • Participants must pass this level in order to graduate from Lil’ Knights and become eligible for LVIC House League.

Session Time and Dates

Sessions will be held on the following days and times.

Players must sign up for one practice day (Monday or Friday) and one cross ice scrimmage day (Saturday).
